Why Can Moving Companies Operate During the Pandemic?

As the COVID-19 crisis continues to evolve around the country, many of you may be asking yourselves – can I still move? The answer is yes, probably. Many moving companies across the nation have been deemed ‘essential businesses’ in that they are providing a service that is crucial and necessary to some people who are trying to shelter in place. ABC News 13 WLOS in Asheville investigated this very topic on Tuesday. When asked about why moving companies were allowed to stay in business, the marketing manager of Allied Van Line’s said this:

“The current operations by our moving services company, Allied, is devoted to work that is deemed essential to helping people to shelter in place. We are monitoring the evolving state and local orders, as well as working with our Agents to implement strict protocols around the health and safety of our crews, customers and larger communities. At the end of the day, these cases involve a need to get a family their belongings who must move or come home so that they can safely shelter in place at their home in compliance with the current COVID-19 directives.” – Ricardo Ramos-Seyffert

Carey Moving & Storage is a proud agent of Allied Van Lines, and is adhering to all of the health and safety protocols that they are putting forth.
