With Spring in full bloom here in the Carolinas and Tennessee, it’s easy to celebrate the earth just by going about your daily activities. The blooming flowers and trees are sure signs of the most vibrant time of the year that you can catch out your window or along your morning commute. Spring is our favorite time of the year, because it means that moving season is about to hit its peak. But before you dive into packing and preparing for your upcoming move, be sure to set some time aside to enjoy the outdoors. Here are some ideas for how you can celebrate Earth Day this year.

1. Go for a walk, hike, or bike ride – the best way to experience the outdoors is arguably simple. Just get out there! Find a hiking trail or bike through your neighborhood park. Enjoy the fresh air and don’t forget your sunglasses!
2. Go kayaking or boating – get yourself on the water for the day by renting a kayak or boat. Our Southern states are covered with beautiful lakes and rivers to explore.
3. Drive out to the coast for the weekend – enjoy a beach day, soaking up the sun. Or just take yourself for a long drive to see the scenery near and far.
4. Get your friends together for a game or sport – football, soccer, golf, or badminton are all fun activities that will get you outside.
5. Have a bonfire – be sure to pick a safe place where you aren’t at risk of spreading the fire. Buy some smores ingredients and sit back and relax outside at night.
